EMILY NICOLAIDES is an artist and teacher residing in Richmond, Virginia. She began weaving functional wares in 2013 when she took her first class at Penland School of Crafts. Since then Emily has continued her textile education through Penland, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, the Visual Arts Center of Richmond, and most recently, the American Tapestry Alliance.
In 2016, she began experimenting with frame loom weaving and unconventional warps. Today she combines linear and circular weaving to create nontraditional shape tapestries through custom built frame looms.
