BEN WHITE is a Richmond-based working commercial and portrait photographer. He fell in love with photography while working on his high school yearbook and newspaper, and networking/working with local professional photographers has allowed him a hands-on education, and furthered his perspective within the medium. He owes much of his process to mentors, teachers and historical photographers (namely Weegee, Robert Capa & Ansel Adams), whose ideals and perspectives have allowed him to confidently understand and execute principles of lighting & photography. Portrait photography has become his passion, and he is exceptionally intrigued by surrealist portraiture work, which is the bulk of his personal work lately. However, his photography business (www.Benjah-Photography.com) takes up the majority of his shooting time.
