with Emily Nicolaides
Jul 18, 6-9pm
You learned how to make a macrame tapestry, next learn macrame in the round. In this workshop, you'll master a few more knots while designing and making your own plant hanger, personalized to whatever vessel you want to display with it. *Bring a small or medium potted plant or bowl.
EMILY NICOLAIDES is a Richmond based artist and teacher. She combines linear and circular weaving to create nontraditional shaped tapestries through custom built frame looms. She began studying weaving while working towards her BA at the University of Mary Washington. Since then she has continued her education in weaving through Penland School of Crafts and the American Tapestry Alliance. When she’s not weaving, Emily enjoys cooking, supporting the local music scene, and volunteering with Friends Association for Children.
