Using our studio’s newly expanded darkroom, the digital lab and the beautiful outdoors, we’ll make personal zines and small garden flags in a beautiful prussian blue using this historic alternative process. Learn how to mix chemicals and prep surfaces for cyanotypes in the darkroom and discuss layout, design, storytelling and documentation.
*Students are encouraged to do research prior to class to consider personal materials & objects of differing opacities to bring for printing (i.e. botanicals, glass figurines, drawings, hand cut lettering. Anyone interested in using their own photos is welcome to email firstname.lastname@example.org prior to class to discuss printing digital negatives.)
