WITH LISA HUTCHINSON
FEB 12, 6-9PM
Have a sewing machine in your closet and no idea how to use it? Bring your machine (and manual) or use one of ours and learn the basics so you can start making stuff! We’ll cover winding and loading a bobbin, threading, changing the needle, basic stitching, adjusting the stitch length and width, and basic sewing techniques. Along the way, you’ll learn some sewing lingo and a few of Lisa’s favorite tips and tricks. We’ll close the class discussing how to best build a basic sewing tool kit.
Supply List: Bring your machine and manual (if you have them) plus any basic sewing tools you already own (if any). We have machines available, too.
LISA HUTCHINSON has been sewing for 23 years thanks to her momma! Early on she used second hand fabrics and materials to create clothing and textile art. After studying fashion design she continued down the road of reuse by upcycling and recycling as much as possible. Hoping to lower her environmental impact she shifted to clothing repair and mending, check out her sustainable stitches at topstitchmending.com.
