WITH EMILY NICOLAIDES
JUN 23, 10AM-4PM
In this workshop, we'll recap the basics and then learn some more advanced knots. We'll also cover how to add more texture and dimension to your wall hangings through skirts, feathers, and sinnets. Option to bring your own branch, pipe, or rod. Recommended for those with a little macrame experience, but open to all levels.
EMILY NICOLAIDES is an artist and teacher residing in Richmond, Virginia. She began weaving functional wares in 2013 when she took her first class at Penland School of Crafts. Since then Emily has continued her textile education through Penland, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, the Visual Arts Center of Richmond, and most recently, the American Tapestry Alliance. In 2016, she began experimenting with frame loom weaving and unconventional warps. Today she combines linear and circular weaving to create nontraditional shape tapestries through custom built frame looms.
