Come learn how to make a handy drawstring bag the 19th-century Japanese farmer way! We'll use indigo-dyed scraps to hand-stitch boro (means scrap) style bags that you can use and patch.

ELIZABETH COGAR learned her improvisational teaching and making style from her artist mother. She works with textiles, exploring methods of dyeing, printing, hand-stitching, and sewing, and she runs creative events under the name of Makeshop (www.makeshop.co) and sells small batches of hand sewn and printed items (www.yippyskippy.biz).
