At Studio Two Three, we are in the business of helping people find that thing they love and make it. We are in the business of connecting artists to communities, artists to each other, and people to their power to express themselves as makers, individuals, advocates and activists. We are in the business of changing lives. And we cannot do it without you.
By donating, you provide a safe, inclusive and affordable studio space.
By donating, you give scholarships to at-need students and artists.
By donating, you amplify voices for positive change in our community.
Together we can continue providing our community of artists the space to create, learning opportunities to envision a better world, and the tools needed to share their passions, visions and voices.

JACKIE'S THING: TELLING HER STORY to change the world for women
“As a full-time mother, writer and illustrator, when I sold my first book I had no idea when and where I would find the physical and mental space to get the manuscript done.
Studio Two Three changed my life by providing an affordable 24-hour-access studio space where I could leave the rest of my life behind and get to work.
My book is a satirical feminist version of What To Expect When You’re Expecting. We are currently in final edits for a book that I really think can change the world for women, and I could not have written it, if not for Studio Two Three.
Being surrounded by a community of like-minded artists sustained me through many sleepless nights; I’m privileged to be a part of this diverse creative community.”
- Jackie Ann Ruiz, artist
STEVEN’S THING: ADVOCACY FOR SOCIAL CHANGE
“When I first started my "Puerto Rico Is Dying" campaign in 2017, it was with a hand-painted 3x5 flag at the corner of Broad and Belvedere.
After seeing the devastation in Puerto Rico first hand, I recognized that I needed to go bigger. Luckily, Studio Two Three was my link to both the people and the space to make this happen.
Guard N' Flags, a flag producing company based out of Studio Two Three, offered to help make a bigger flag, and Studio Two Three's brand new event space provided the opportunity to go as big as we wanted.
As we started working on the new 750 square foot flag, a number of Studio Two Three artists offered their help, and it quickly became a communal project.
It's this community and support that Studio Two Three offers artists that is so priceless.”
- Steven Casanova, artist & activist
MARK’S THING: SUPPORTING YOUTH WORKING TO REFORM THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM
"During our Performing Statistics workshops with incarcerated youth, we had the honor of working with Studio Two Three to print t-shirts and posters to give out at our annual Justice Parade.
So much of art is imagining a world beyond our own. A world beyond the limitations, and in the teen's case, the very real walls and barriers, that separate people from potential futures, jobs, communities and resources.
Working with Studio Two Three not only allowed the teens to discover new ways of sharing their stories, but opened up entrepreneurial possibilities that were culturally relevant and exciting for the teens."
- Mark Strandquist, Performing Statistics Creative Director
MILK RIVER ARTS’ THING: NEW POSSIBILITIES FOR EVERYONE
“Studio Two Three is a huge reason artists at Milk River are seen as a vital part of the creative culture in Richmond. Milk River supports a neuro-diverse community of artists and fosters the exchange of learning between established and emerging artists with disabilities.
We believe in creating space where everyone feels welcome and inspired to work with a wide-open heart, and sometimes our tiny studio just isn’t big enough!
Studio Two Three feels like home to our artists. Studio Two Three opens their heart and their doors to us, which means more artists get to know each other and get to work together. New introductions! New connections! New materials! And the exchange of ideas. New Possibilities for everyone.”
- Sally Kemp, Executive Director Milk River Arts
