Our classes are offered in the exciting, lively environment of a communal studio space - work alongside other students and artists in a productive, working studio! We like to think of our classes as workshops - informal, personal, improvisational and welcoming to everyone. Boost your skill set, up your game, learn things that could lead to new adventures in work and creativity.

INTERESTED IN TEACHING AT THE STUDIO?
We're always looking for lively teachers who are eager to share their creative talents. Please answer these questions for us and we'll be back in touch.
WE OFFER CLASSES IN:
In screen printing, a mesh screen is used to transfer ink onto a substrate (paper, fabric, wood and more) except in areas made blocked out to the ink by a blocking stencil. It is also known as silk screen and serigraphy. You can learn to screen print on paper, fabric, t-shirts, totes and more in our classes!
In relief printing, you carve away the negative areas and ink the positive (raised) areas.
Our classes show you how to ink, carve and print - and are welcoming to everyone regardless of experience. We have giant maps, giant wood type and fun letterpress graphics for you to play with to make prints, banners, cards and more!
PHOTO & FILM
Make Super 8mm films, cyanotypes, traditional black and white photo prints and high-quality digital photographs using your fancy camera.
Coming soon, classes in alternative darkroom photography!
BUSINESS FOR ARTISTS
Richmond’s creative entrepreneurs need business acumen and professional development opportunities. We provide these opportunities with Bizness for Creatives.
Bizness for Creatives connects creative entrepreneurs to one another, business training, and ongoing career coaching.
We host field trips at Studio Two Three for middle and high school students. We can also bring printmaking to you with our print truck, S23 To-Go! We are happy to customize field trips to your needs and curriculum.
ETCHING (DRYPOINT & INTAGLIO)
Etching (or intaglio) is a printing process that uses an etched or engraved plate made by etching lines into the metal surface with acid. The plate is printed by smearing it with ink, wiping it clean and printing the ink left in the recesses. Drypoint is a fast, fun way of making a print by carving directly into a metal plate. It's magical and wonderful and you should try it!
