Community Climate Q&A
On Monday, February 17th, we hosted. a Community Climate Q&A featuring panelists from Clean Virginia, Richmond City Office of Sustainability, Virginia Interfaith Power and Light, and Virginia League of Conservation Voters, to help us understand how the new administration and federal policies will be felt closer to home.
At the studio, we have already felt the impact of the ongoing federal funding freeze. We lost a $200k federal grant for energy efficient improvements to our 1930-era building due. Over the last year we’ve been working really hard to build a space that can host the important organizing - and community building- work for thousands of Richmonders, and making our building as energy efficient & affordable as possible is a huge part of making this work sustainable.
You can read more about the Community Climate Q&A and our loss of this funding in this Style Weekly article.
We will have a recording of the session to courtesy of our friends at Double Take available in the coming days.

LGBTQIA+ Community Discussion & Info Session
On Wednesday, January 29th, we hosted a community info session providing an overview & state of play on federal and state legislation impacting our LGBTQIA+ community. Our partners at Equality Virginia, ACLU of Virginia, Side by Side and He, She, Ze & We helped assess what threats are real, what power we have at the local level and what we should be on the lookout for.
Our dear friends Joey & Erin of Double Take recorded the session. You can access the recording of the full session HERE.

Make a Donation
As we move into 2025, we remain steadfastly committed to creating a world in which the power of art is willingly and joyfully harnessed for personal, social and systemic change.
This, we are creating a publicly-accessible community green space in the yard beside the studio. We will continue hosting dozens of free community events each month - providing meaningful meeting and organizing space for mission aligned efforts and organizations, and space for joyful connection through film screenings, square dancing and celebrations. And we will continue providing a 24/7 space for 120+ artists & angelic troublemakers.
We know community arts spaces like Studio Two Three are critical - these are the spaces where we co-create, co-conspire, and envision better futures together.
Donate here to make everything we do at Studio Two Three possible.
