Connection: Making Your Own Contact Mic!
Sat 5/10 12-4pm
Instructor: Emily Robinson
Contact mics, staples of experimental music and sound art, pick up sound through contact with a vibrating object rather than from external sound waves. In this hands-on class, you will learn how a contact mic works, and how to build one out of raw materials. Each participant will create their own usable contact mic and explore its functionality in fun ways. Come cut, solder, and make some noise!
Emily Robinson is a printmaker and musician from Appalachia currently living in Richmond, VA.
