Your Child’s Education & You

Supporting our artist community is at the heart of what we do. Each day we’re going to be sharing some important tools, opportunities, and resources for artists on our blog. Follow along and reach out if you need additional support.

Today we’re going to share some helpful resources for child education.

Being in charge of your child’s education while working and taking care of day to day stuff is HARD. Moving forward, here are some thing we want you to know:

Forgive Yourself

It is okay if you haven’t don’t the things you expected yourself to do and to change your goals. Consider what you are demanding of yourself and if it worth the potential costs. If it is not, it is totally okay to take it easy (and forgive yourself).

Do What Works for You

Make a schedule... or don’t. Sometimes having some structure can help kids learn, other times, it doesn’t work out as you would hope and it is easier to sit with your kid at the end of the day and talk about what they experienced or learned.

Have Fun Once in a While!

Kids are sponges and even if you have not directly communicated the extra stress you may be feeling, they know. Start a dance party, make silly songs, tell goofy stories. This helps relieve stresses that both (all) of you may be feeling.

Screentime

The extended stay at home order naturally means that 1) you need to distract your kids and 2) they will be looking at screens for a majority of that time. This is okay! Engage with them and show interest in what they are watching/doing. Help them connect content with real life by asking them questions.
